Each Area of your life does influence your health...so how does Yoga Therapy work?
Everyday we have an opportunity to impact, inspire, motivate, heal and guide change into our clients lives. Imagine bringing a sense of fun, wonder and re-discovery back to a person who suffers in their own skin. Often, people with chronic pain, disease, and injury feel trapped in their body or that their body has given up on them. The loss is not only a lack of connection to their body, but also a loss of community and support. With Yoga Therapy, you can offer hope through your understanding of mind awareness and guidance that will motivate the patient back into movement.Your knowledge of how a person in pain relates to their body can be the most valuable tool for helping them re-connect with the desire to self heal. For example, someone who suffers from panic attacks can learn to manage them by practicing a series of balanced breathing techniques. From this, a sense of control is gained and your client can then focus on addressing the source of their anxiety. Yoga Therapy guides patients to a place of physical, mental and emotional awareness and gives them the tools to address what ails them. For instance, people experiencing pain can find poses that target and relieve the pain, as well as overcome feelings of helplessness. One of the benefits of the Yoga Therapy Program is the customized approach that allows us to work with all types of individuals with different needs.
The Yoga Therapy Program will cover:
· Clients 65 and up (chair yoga modifications)
· Client 65 and under (injuries, chronic pain )
· Benefits / Precautions of each pose
· Four sample practices for half-hour class
· Written and Group assignments
· How to instructions (cues) for each pose
Changing the patients physiology with their focus; therefore changing their conditioning
The Yoga Therapy Program will enhance the skill sets you already have as a care provider and through taking the program reflect positive changes through your new approach with your clients. By enhancing your practice with Yoga Theraphy, you are developing techniques through an alternative modality that are adaptable to to your clients needs. As a practioner you can also approach healing with a relaxed state as you apply what you have learned in the Yoga Therapy Program in their daily life. How you feel in treating the client will change. The relationship dynamic enhances and the patient may be more open to healing. With the overall benefit of the change in atmosphere /approach of your center of health, hospital, pain clinic, or training course you will see an improvement of health and overall well being and an increase of your services being seeked.
The Yoga Therapy Program is valuable as it is innovative and raises company and personal standards of patient care. There are long term benefits for both the client and practioner.
How the patient benefits:
· Connection to their body and mind
· Alternative wholistic method to heal
· Stress reduction techniques
· Pain management through relaxation and breathing
· Better sleep which promotes rejeuventation
How the company / practioner benefits:
· Improved flexibilty
