Throughout my life I have always been aware of the heightened sense of vitality and joy that I feel when moving to music, whether in studios, dance halls, in my living room, or in my backyard. My discovery of Nia in 2000 deepened that awareness and taught me the incredible science behind movement for wellness. In 2003, I became a licensed Nia Teacher. Since then, I have delivered Nia classes and playshops aiming to inspire people to listen to their bodies and engage in purposeful, playful, and expressive movement to get fit, self-heal, and personally transform. I invite you to discover the depths of Nia and to celebrate the Joy of Movement as a fitness and lifestyle practice. If you can move, you can dance!

Kristin Cleland |
|
 |
It was a love of movement and dance that initially inspired Kristin Cleland to try the practice of Asana. But it was becoming pregnant and starting up pre-natal Yoga classes at Welkin Yogalife that steered Kristin towards a deeper relationship with Yoga. After discovering the peace, mindfulness & empowerment within that Yoga helps us to cultivate, Kristin was inspired to share the beauty of Yoga with others.
After a few months of settling into motherhood, Kristin journeyed through Welkin's one year self realization & Yoga teacher training program. The community & sense of self discovered through the program made for a smooth transition into offering classes. Kristin's Joyful, Earthy energy and her passion for movement shines through in her Yoga & Hoopdance classes, leaving those who attend with a sense of peaceful inner being and upliftedness in the body. After two years of facilitating classes, Kristin's teaching practice is now known as "Mandala Yoga" and her classes can be found at various studios in Brantford & Paris. When off the mat, you may find Kristin singing, dancing, building hula hoops and playing with her daughter River.
"Yoga teaches us to place faith, wellness and clarity as our foundation, so that we may receive all of life's struggles or changes as an opportunity for healing and growth! I joyfully look forwards to seeing you on the mat! Peace!" |
